Seed Library Restocked for Spring Planting!

Our Seed Library has sprouted new stock — pick your favorites and grow something beautiful this season.

With the community’s support, our Seed Library has taken root and run wild—like dandelions overtaking a summer lawn! We opened our 2025 season on March 1st, and swiftly our patrons germinated our supply of seeds.

Well, we're now fully restocked with flower, herb, vegetable, and fruit seeds at the Main Library—just in time for spring planting! Get them while supplies last! Remember, patrons can check out 10 seed packets per month, with a limit of two packets per variety.

What is the Seed Library?

A seed library is a free program offered at many public libraries where community members can “check out” seeds to grow at home. The goal is to encourage gardening, promote sustainability, and support local food security. While returning harvested seeds is often welcomed, it’s not required, making seed libraries an accessible and welcoming way for people of all experience levels to get growing.

How Does It Work?

The Seed Library at Clark County Public Library is open to all Clark County residents ages 14 and older. To participate, simply complete a seed library membership form at the Main Library Reference Desk and browse our seed catalog. Patrons can select from a variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruits to plant in their gardens or containers.

While there’s no requirement to return or donate seeds, we gladly accept donations of unopened packets of vegetable, herb, fruit, or flower seeds. We especially welcome open-pollinated, heirloom, and organic varieties.
