Seed Library
Now open for the 2026 growing season!
A seed library offers free seeds to help our community grow food, support pollinators, and build stronger local gardens. By sharing seeds that thrive in our region, we encourage home gardening, increase biodiversity, and make fresh, healthy food more accessible to everyone.
How Does It Work?
- Join. Stop by the Reference Desk at Main Library and complete a Seed Library Membership form. (Ages 14+, No library card required!)
- Choose Your Seeds. Pick up to 10 seed packets per month. Limit 2 per variety and only what you’ll use this season.
- Grow & Enjoy. Plant your seeds and grow your garden! There’s no requirement to return seeds, but donations are always welcome!
Can I Donate Seeds?
- Choose Seeds to Share. We accept commercial seed packets and saved seeds from your own plants. We especially welcome locally grown, pollinator-friendly, and native varieties.
- Label & Separate Saved Seeds. Saved seeds should be clean, dry, separated by variety, and clearly labeled.
- Complete a Donation Form. All donations must include a completed Seed Donation Form. Please return your seeds and form to the Reference Desk at Main Library.
NOTE: Because plants can cross-pollinate, growing saved seeds may have mixed results.
