Interlibrary Loan
Can't find what you're looking for?
If the Clark County Public Library doesn’t have the item you’re interested in, we can often borrow it from another library through an interlibrary loan service. Using two statewide networks, SearchOhio (public libraries) and OhioLINK (college and university libraries), you can request books, audiobooks, movies, and more from hundreds of libraries across Ohio. It's fast, easy, and of course, free!
SearchOhio and OhioLINK are unavailable due to system upgrades and cannot process requests at this time.
REQUEST AN ITEM
Requesting materials is easy! It works just like placing a hold in our catalog:
- Enter your keywords (title, author, subject, etc.) in the search bar.
- Narrow your results using the filters on the left side of the screen.
- When you find your item, click Request.
- Select Clark County Public Library from the institution drop-down menu and enter your library card number and PIN.
- Choose your preferred pickup branch location.
- Click Submit to complete your request.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) lets you borrow books, movies, and other materials from other libraries when the Clark County Public Library doesn’t own them. We partner with two statewide library networks, SearchOhio and OhioLINK, to make thousands of additional items available to you.

SearchOhio connects public libraries across Ohio. You can borrow items from large systems, such as Columbus Metropolitan and Toledo-Lucas County, among many others.

OhioLINK connects academic libraries, letting you borrow materials from participating colleges and universities throughout the state.

Call us at (937) 328-6903. Just have your library card and PIN number ready!

Track the progress of your request by watching its status on your MY ACCOUNT record. When the item is ready for you to pick up, the status will show HELD, and you will receive a courtesy notice.

Patrons with an active Clark County Public Library card in good standing are eligible to use Interlibrary Loan services.
Please note that new cardholders in their probationary period are not eligible for Interlibrary Loan requests.
